After completing a master’s degree in applied mathematics and statistics at the Swiss Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL – Switzerland) in 2016, Anthony started a PhD at the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM), part of the University of Bern (Switzerland). During his PhD, which he completed in February 2021, Anthony built mathematical models to reproduce and predict the spread of HIV drug resistances in South Africa. Following his PhD, Anthony worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Zurich, ISPM in Bern, and the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) in Bern (all in Switzerland). In March 2023, he joined the EPIcx team to model and characterize the variation in social contacts during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
